Registration Policy
The philosophy department has decided to streamline their registration policies to the following dates:
Registration to courses:
- Lectures: Opens 4 weeks before beginning of the semester, closes at the end of the second week of the semester.
- Weekly seminars: Opens 4 weeks before beginning of the semester, closes at the end of the second week of the semester.
- Block seminars: Opens 4 weeks before, and closes at information session, or if no information session: opens 6 weeks before the seminar and closes 2 weeks before the seminar takes place.
Registration to assessments:
- Exams for lectures: Opens 4 weeks before the end of the semester, closes one week before the exam.
- Seminar assessments (e.g. term papers), both block and weekly: Opens for a week after the end of the seminar.
Deadline for handing in term papers: 3 weeks before the official end of the semester (either first week of September or first week of March)
Please note that if you have registered for an exam you are not taking in the end and failed to deregister, this implies that you fail the exam (e.g. if you don’t hand in a term paper).
Please also note that other departments may have different policies; especially within computer science, procedures may differ. If in doubt, please to carefully check elearning, cmlife and if need be reach out to the lecturers directly.
Generally, if you’d like to take any courses for credit within P&CS that are not yet listed on cmlife you can always suggest a module link to the P&CS exam board. We welcome suggestions as we don’t know everything going on at UBT.
Also, bear in mind that you can gain additional ECTS within the program as part of your Specialisation module (and only there).
